We Serve
The Barrington Lions Club celebrates nearly 100 years of service in the Barrington area communities. Our club was organized October 15, 1925.
Since 1917, Lions clubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world’s blind, Lions clubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community.
Today with more than 46,000 clubs in 193 countries and geographical areas, Lions have expanded their focus to help meet the ever-increasing needs of our global community.
Our programs are continually changing to meet new needs and greater demands, but our mission has never wavered: “We Serve.”
Recurring Programs
BHS Scholarship
The Barrington Lions Club awards a four year scholarship to a deserving BHS student each year.
Vision Screening
We partner with the Lions of Illinois Foundation to promote and host the Mobile Screening Unit which provides free vision and hearing screening for residents.
Eyeglass Collection
We collect used eyeglasses and hearing aids which are refurbished and redistributed around the world to those who need them most.
Flag Collection
We show our respect and support for our veterans by collecting and properly recycling retired US flags.
Giving Day
Our club is a proud sponsor of Barrington Giving Day which continues to provide necessities to community members in need.
Highway Cleanup
Our club has adopted a stretch of Route 59 between US 14 and Cuba road, helping keep our community safe and clean.
